Asia’s largest Building Integrated Organic PV (BIOPV) completed – Singapore
14th of September 2015
Phase 1 successfully installed on Seletar Walkway
Dresden, Germany – 14. September 2015 – The first phase of Heliatek’s pilot project in Singapore has been successfully completed. 30m² of Heliafilm® with an average cell efficiency of 7% have been installed within a few hours on the Seletar walkway. HeliaFilm® is fitting the walkway roof perfectly despite its uneven shaped aluminum top structure.
Hence two key features of HeliaFilm® are demonstrated on this installation:
- Flexibility in form, fit and function
- Ease of installation
HeliaFilm® is the core part of a larger project, which provides a test-bed platform for new sustainable, urban-fit technologies for Singapore. The project is carried out by vTrium, Heliatek’s exclusive partner in Singapore. HeliaFilm® will be furthermore implemented on various buildings in JTCs Cleantech Park on steel and glass using various versions of transparencies and colors.
This project is funded and supported by Jurong Town Corporation (JTC, Singapore) and SPRING (Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board, Singapore). The independent monitoring of this pilot will be performed by the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS).
The findings from this project will help to create a base for the future energy mix for Singapore.
